Clothes hung out to dry, the dominant green, the shacks and the first small villas in the background. An almost unreal and very different Piazza Galeno as it appears today, the one seen in the early 20th century picture belonging to the Parisi family.
The photo is taken from Typimedia Editore’s volume “Come eravamo Nomentano”: a great story in pictures of the history of this district. It is only with fascism that it began to take on a precise physiognomy, when the great public buildings bearing the imprint of the regime were built.
In the series ‘Come Eravamo’ (How We Were), Typimedia Editore has also published volumes dedicated to the districts: Trieste-Salario, Montesacro, Monteverde and San Lorenzo. A book dedicated to Prati is also coming out.
