If you are dreaming of a princely wedding, the kind that makes you live a fairy tale, there is no better place than Palazzo Brancaccio, a historic residence dating back to 1880, set in a frame that, by itself, makes the location special. It is located, in fact, on the ancient walls of the Colle Oppio, between the Colosseum and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, in the famous Domus Aurea of Nero’s empire. The palace, a concentrate of breathtaking sumptuousness, was commissioned by Mary Elisabeth Field, wife of Prince Salvatore Brancaccio, and was designed for her by architect Gaetano Koch.
Among the spaces of the sumptuous palace, the Sala Rossa (Red Room) stands out, furnished with precious drapes in full cardinal style and decorated according to the Baroque Renaissance, but also the Sala degli Arazzi (Tapestry Room), enriched with sumptuous chandeliers and precious deep red tapestry, and the Salone di Gala and the Galleria degli Specchi (Mirror Gallery), two of the most beautiful and spacious locations in the palace.
And when fine weather arrives, you can also take advantage of the magnificent park of the estate, where you can organise the entire reception or just the welcome aperitif, surrounded by nature that makes you forget you are still in the heart of the city. Fourteen different types of tablecloths are also available to the bride and groom, as well as numerous arrangements and decorations, and a range of options to make the party memorable, including light games, music and live performances.
For those who want to go even bigger, the ceremony can also be organised inside Palazzo Brancaccio, in addition to the reception. Those who choose a civil ceremony can stay in the estate’s spaces, including the romantic and intimate Casina di Caccia, while for those who choose a religious ceremony, the staff will book one of Rome’s most beautiful churches, San Martino ai Monti, just a few meters from the estate.
