Piazza Trilussa is located in the heart of Trastevere, in front of Ponte Sisto and between the Farnesina and Lungotevere Raffaello Sanzio. This square is dedicated to the satiric roman poet Carlo Alberto Salustri, better known as Trilussa.
This charming little square is the set of one scene in the movie The Conspirator directed by Luigi Magni. The director in his film draws a map of Rome’s historical places. In Piazza Trilussa the cobbler Cornacchia, played by Nino Manfredi (the literal translation is “carrion crow”, but in the film it refers to him as a chatterbox) confesses to his lover Giuditta (Claudia Cardinale) his true identity. His real name is Pasquino, the author of ironic writings and two critics against the reactionary and inflexible politics of Pope Leo XII.
